I started my weight loss journey at a very young age. I don't ever remember being "small". I have struggled with my weight my entire life. And as many of you, I have been on every diet my doctor has given me, every "miracle diet", and lots of those good ole "crash diets". I have taken every weight loss pill out there and sometimes I would lose the weight only to gain it back plus 50 pounds!

I found out about Dr. Husted through my mother-in-law's boss. And to tell the truth when she told me what she was planning to do, I thought this woman is absolutely nuts!! I would NEVER do something that drastic to lose weight. She talked about it so much; I finally gave in and went to a seminar, which only added to my fears. Actually seeing and hearing about the procedure and its risks. I went to see him afterwards, and asked him flat out, in your experience with obese people how long do I have to live?? "IF you don't have surgery 5 years max! IF you do have surgery you will have a long and healthy life!!" I went to my primary care physician just to make sure she felt the same way and she said yes, I am afraid you will not live with out it. So, it took me all of 15 minutes to decide I was doing this for my life and my children.

I had surgery 10/22/01 and it was rough, I won't lie about that, and if there was a complication boy did I have it! But, with the care and love of Dr. Husted and his staff, I made it and am here to tell you today that I WOULD do it again in a heart beat! I can not express in words what these people mean to me. They have saved my life, and for that I will be forever grateful. While I was in pre-op, I was pretty scared and chickened out. So they went and got Dr. Husted and I told him NOOOO I was not doing this, he asked me to let him pray with me and if I still wasn't at peace I didn't have to! What a guy!! He even let my dad pray over his hands and pray for God to lead him through my surgery!! What a guy!! I knew then GOD had sent me on this journey and had sent me to the right people.

So, to all you considering weight loss surgery, I would recommend Dr. Husted, Dr. Anderson, and my lovely angel Jamie to anyone. You can not ask for more blessed people to be in your life. I am blessed and grateful to them everyday I wake up. Without them I would have nothing but a grave to look forward to. Now I have my children and cars and graduation and the many many more birthdays to come. I get to see and experience all that because of Dr. Husted and Jamie's caring and love for the many many people they continue to touch.
