I want to share the wonderful experience I had with Dr. Husted's great staff. I was never looked down upon because of my size. I was always treated with the utmost respect and felt they genuinely cared about me. This means a lot when your about to go down roads you haven't traveled before.

My primary care physician had mentioned weight loss surgery a year before I made the decision to check into it. He referred me to Dr. Husted. I was a fifty year old woman with a problem of on again and off again diets which left me gaining more weight. I was very tired of these yoyo changes. I had type II diabetes, high blood pressure, and several other medical problems. My medicines were costing the insurance company around $2300.00 every three months.

To put it mildly, I need a new lease on life which I found in the form of gastric bypass surgery. My consult date was 9/11/02, my pre-op was on Halloween, and surgery was 11/14/02. Some people think surgery is the easy way out, but believe me it's a major undertaking but worth everything to be on the other side.

7 months post-op - I've lost 115 pounds and am off 7 medications. I was going to have to have a knee replacement but I won't have to have it now. I am no longer diabetic, thank the Lord. I was wearing size 30-32, and 4X clothes. Now I wear a size 20 and XL clothes.

I feel very blessed to have been in the great care of Dr. Husted and his team. They have dedicated their lives to saving ours! I believe with all my heart that my decision to have this surgery was the only way I was going to get a new lease on life. Thanks to Dr. Husted and the Lord, I now have a chance to prolong my life.
