Weight loss surgery was the only permanent solution to my weight problem, and I was blessed to have found Dr. Husted and Jamie. They are an awesome team, ALWAYS there to answer questions, they are professional, kind, and caring, and they have an awesome support group.

I am amazed at how surgery has changed me in every way. Taking a shower is NOT an aerobic workout these days. Neither is grocery shopping. I don't have to hold my breath to bend over and put on socks. I can fit behind the wheel of my car. I can walk up stairs without being winded and my feet won't hurt when I reach the top. I am able to work outside of my home for the first time in years.

In other words, I am finally able to live a healthy, normal life. I feel so free now and I'm able to be myself and do the things I've wanted to but couldn't for years. I'm still "me" but just better and couldn't have accomplished it without this surgery. I do wonder if they know in his office how often people are thinking of them and thanking God for them? Their ears must ring constantly because not a day goes by that I don't think of or mention them...not even two and a half years after surgery. You just won't meet better people.

UPDATE August, 2004 - At this point I am 4 years and one month out and I contiune to lose! This picture was taken at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis while on vacation. My hair is growing is the only reason I put a new picture here, JOKE/BAD HAIR DAY! I am now engaged to the most wonderful gentleman I've ever met, Chris Murphy, I have a good job, things are looking up for me; my 30's are gonna be the best years ever!
