All I can say is thank you Dr. Husted for saving me. Actually I think he saved me twice. First by performing wls surgery, and second, I had gotten sick after my surgery and was in the hospital for about 3 weeks with a second surgery. I think I still remain a mystery as to what happened, but he and several other doctors, nurses, staff, my husband, and my mother took very good care of me at Baptist. Praise God for them all.

I have been back at work for two weeks now and have more energy than I have in a long time. I have lost 48 lbs. Now, the clothes are getting bigger (such a wonderful feeling) and so many people have commented on how they can tell such a big difference in me. I got kind of tickled the other day, because I teach high school students and some of them told me that I was looking younger! I can surely eat that up!

UPDATE September, 2005 - This makes it officially 7 months since I had this life changing WLS. I have now lost 119 lbs.!!!! Thank you Jesus! I had so many sweet and wonderful comments from my friends today at church just telling me how great I looked. I am now wearing a size 14 and still some 16's in pants. Wow...that sounds crazy! Just 7 months ago I was wearing the largest size in the plus size store, 30-32's. Totally amazing! Again, thank you Jesus. Thank you for allowing me to overcome this prison that I was trapped in for so many years. I feel free now.

I LOVE wearing jeans again.....I forgot how much I did enjoy them. Not that I didn't wear jeans at size 30, but it was just a weird uncomfortable feeling that I didn't like. Now they feel Sooooo good!

My 16 yr. Old son got me tickled today. He said that I looked different to him now, so different. I asked him how? He said like this.....and he kind of scrunched up his body.....well I didn't quite know what that meant so of course I had to inquire....just what did he mean by that. He said well compared to this.....and then try to expand his body across the seat! Oh gosh....I guess he's telling me that I take up LESS ROOM now! LOL - too funny, and a little embarrassing at the same time. My next goal is to be UNDER 200 lbs. which is 12 lbs away. I really think I can do that this month. Wish me luck....better yet, pray for me. =)

As for Dr. Husted......he is the greatest! He is my hero! I can not thank him enough for giving my life back to me in three-fold! He was very genuine in my first consult as he was at my 6 mos. check-up. He is just the sweetest. As for all his office staff....they are the greatest too! Just a very good place full of people who care about you and want the very best for you! On a scale of 1-10 for Dr. Husted and his entire staff at Cumberland Center for Obesity Surgery, I would give 100++++....off the scale....way off the scale!!!
Thank you Dr. Husted, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Did I mention I can't thank him enough! =)

UPDATE April 25, 2006 - It has been a year and two months now since my wls. I feel absolutely amazing! So far I have lost 164 lbs. I now weigh 166!!! only 14 pounds to go for my personal goal. I still need to get this hernia fixed and some tucking here and there but for right now I think I will wait till the end of the year.

For all of those who are still researching the idea of wls, it was the best thing that I could have ever done for myself and my family! Thank you LORD and thank you Dr. Husted....you are the best!
